It's been 9 months since IISAC2007.. who could forget the beautiful clear dark skies, incredibly hot days, the spectacular comet McNaught, and the great company of friends.
It really was a special time.
If we were going to have it in January again, we'd really be getting excited and plans would be well underway. But due to popular demand, we've moved IISAC2008 to a cooler time of year - October.
IISAC2008 will be held from October 30th to November 1st, 2008 - just about a year away.
It seems like so long away.. but I need to start the preparations very soon.. I'm expecting IISAC2008 to be even bigger than IISAC2007 and with that comes extra challenges. After seeing the excellent, professional work displayed by the BSG2007 committee it's inspired me to lift my game and use some of their ideas for IISAC2008.
Petra has kindly offered to help me, so along with the rest of the IISAC organising committee, we hope to bring you an excellent event - hopefully as memorable as IISAC2007.
Stay tuned for more updates and a launch in the coming weeks.
yes this one should be a hoot - we are organising for 2 super bright comets, 3 daylight supernova and a meteor shower, be giving away property on the moon and bruce willis to blow up a comet just for good measure!!!
OK might be just a slight enhancement on this years event, it should be well worth it.
I think 12 months might be OK to apply for a leave pass from the wife (mind you it wont be that long after Astrofest next year, and I know I wont be there for the full time )
well if you're planning to go to both Dave - you better let the IIS planning committee know so they can factor in having your wife kidnapped for that weekend so you can sign your own leave pass
