Sale to be modified: Meade LX200GPS 10" UHTC w/ accessories, JMI case, Milburn wedge

Time to shift gears a bit. This is a great package, but has me in a bit over my head. I'm selling it to downsize and get back to something more portable with two kids running around at my feet. If I didn't rent and could put an observatory in the yard, this baby wouldn't be leaving my hands.

This setup would be ideal for taking the next step in guided or piggyback imaging, or getting started at astrometry/photometry if paired with a CCD camera.

Meade 10" LX200GPS with UHTC (ultra high transmission coatings)
Purchased in December 2002, stored indoors when not in use. The telescope has seen light usage for the past three years due to business travel and family commitments.
Included standard accessories:
UHTC Mirror coatings
1.25" Mirror Diagonal
Field Tripod
Meade 26mm Plossl eyepiece
Finder scope (8x50)
12V power cable (cig. lighter adapter)
Motorized Crayford focuser
Mirror Lock
Autostar II controller

The following after market accessories have been fitted:
Bucks Gears (Stainless Steel gear upgrade)
EZ clutch (dry clutch modification)
Shorty Collimation Thumb Screws
Stainless Steel screw replacement kit
Eyeopener II visual back
Microfocuser Quick Attach Thumbscrews
Two custom Hartmann masks for focusing

The following additional items are included:

The legendary Milburn Wedge (25 to 50 degrees latitude). This is a very solid and beautiful mount, machined from Aluminium. See this page for more info.

Meade 0.63 focal reducer
Losmandy D Series SCT dovetail plate
Losmandy D Series camera mount
Losmandy D Series 125mm tube rings (fit ED80 or similar OTA)
Losmandy 2D counterweight system with dovetail bar and 3 weights (1x2.5 lb, 2x5 lb)
JMI wheeled hard case for LX200 series
Thousand Oaks Type 2 Full Aperture Glass Solar Filter
Meade Illuminated Reticle eyepiece with cord (9mm)
Meade 12mm Plossl eyepiece
Meade 2" UHTC diagonal
Meade Off Axis guider

The replacement price is over $9500. Don't tell my wife.

Asking $6400.

Pictures of the scope mounted with many of the accessories are available here:

The ED80 pictured is not included, but the mounting hardware is.

Pick up preferred in the Brisbane area, optionally I could deliver within a reasonable radius (farther if you sweet talk me).

Contact me via private message if you would like to come by to inspect, or if you think I'm off my rocker .

Price reduction

I'd rather not split it up yet, but am keeping that available as an option.

The asking price has been reduced to $6400.

re: Motorized Crayford focuser

Are you talking about the Standard Meade Microfocuser?

Yes, the Meade #1209 zero image-shift microfocuser. It is a motorized Crayford design, while lacking the positional feedback of some of the more expensive models.
