The Indignity of it!

Talk about the indignity of duty.

As you may (or may not) be aware I am a BIG DRAGONS fan. I have been for about 45 years. The Rugby League Club I am President of is even called 'Ballarat Dragons'.

Now I have been given the undignified duty of being 'Melbourne Storms' Rural representative on ABC Radio each Wednesday morning at 6:15!

I am expected to plug Storm and give news on the Club and reports on their last match, and info on upcoming games and players. And I have to sound excited about all this!!

I get time to talk about our own District League (that's when I get to plug our Club) then I do all the Storm stuff.

Personally I am not much of a Storm supporter, but if it will help Rugby League grow in the land of 'AFL' then I am all for it. I will do my best for them (ho-hum).

GO DRAGONS!!!!!!

seriously though.. in the ball throwing games i'd pick union over league anyday.. leagues just got better biffs

and being that the mrs is a kiwi.. i'm under family pressure to be an all blacks man... 'sweet as bro'

Well, this morning went OK for trying to have a decent chirpy conversation at 6:15a.m live on radio!

He started asking some questions that required thinking!! Gimmee a break - it's early.

I spent the majority of the time talking about our own district and only a few minutes about Storm. That suits me fine. The interview went for 13 minutes which is a long time on radio!!!

It will be a regular thing every wednesday morning. Might have to get up at 5:00a.m. to to get the brain working.

Elusiver, I started out in Rugby Union. Won 6 Grand Finals, also played for Parramatta in 2 matches and got selected to play for Australia. But even back then I followed League whilst playing Union! Wierd huh?

Actually, you have given me an idea!!!!

Twice during the main rounds Gazz, then again in the Prelims, and then in the semi's and finals and also the GRAND FINAL!!!!!!!

Oh, and then of course is the talk about winning the Grand Final too!
