Venus - 21/10/2007

Hi all

Here's Venus, captured yesterday morning at about 5am just before dawn. I wanted to capture Saturn, but left it too late and by the time I tried to point the scope at it, the sky was so bright I couldn't even see it any more.

This image was captured with the DMK21AF04, 5x powermate + Astronomik R filter, using my 12" newt on an EQ6. I've got a Schuler UV filter on the way (been on back order for over a month ), so hope to get some more detail in better conditions before this morning apparition is over.

500 frames were stacked out of 3000 captured. Processing was mild wavelets and curves adjustment.

Thanks for looking.
