A Couple of Quick Lunar Shots

Captured tonight with the ToUcam, C8, 2.5x Powermate, UV/IR filter, K3. Just a quick process. Seeing started off amazing while I was drift aligning, but by the time the scope cooled, the sky got dark and I was ready to get serious it was on the decline...

Lucky not to see surf when I gave up!

Al.

I like those Al! Nice contrast and tonal range.

Dave, the left one is Vallis Alpes (the Alpine Valley), near Plato.

Yes Al, very nice. I recognised the Valley - spent a while last Sunday night having a good look at it. First chance I have had to start to concentrate on the Moon. This Moon viewing is tricky if you want to observe a feature at/close to the terminator - you only get two "windows" per month!!

Thanks guys.

Vallis Alpes is a good test I've managed to get the central gully down the middle of the Vallis Alpes on the verge of resolution... just haven't quite got it! Just can't quite get the results Mike can get! I'll spend a bit more time on the next reprocessed version... I'll be surprized if I can get that gully to resolve . I think that's the best result I've had on Vallis Alpes so far anyway!

Al.
