Base Plate for G11

Hi All, I don't suppose that anyone would have a BT Technology base plate that will fit the G11 mount, that they would like to part with.

Condition is not that important.

Please PM me if you have one for sale.

Thanks Leon

Thanks for the interest but I do not need the base plate any more, made one myself, and it works fine.

Thanks Leon

Tak FSQ

Leon

I noticed one of your equipment pieces is the TAK FSQ. I am considering the purchase of one of these. I want something small and portable that I can set up quickly. I understand they are good astrographs, but I will mainly be using it visually. Could you give me some insight as to how it performs as a planetary telescope since the portability is important to me.

Thanks

Stanley

By the waY, I have a G11 as well. How do you mount the FSQ on this mount.

Thanks once again

Hi Stanley, the FSQ 106 that i have is a fantastic instrument, and being an Astrograph i use it only for Astro Photography, as a visual it is also very good, but to get the magnification you need to see detail, you would need to purchase the Extender Q 1.6x, and a high powered EP, in it's native focal length it just dosn't do it.

I am not a visual person, and do imaging only, so this scope suits me perfectly.

Although it is reasonably small, it is still quite heavy for it's size.

It mounts superbly onto the G11 with the BT Technology Base Plate, and a Takahashi Clam Shell Tube Holder, which fits perfectly to the plate, and allows you to slide it up or down to help in balancing the scope.

If you are purchasing this type of instrument for visual only, may i suggest that i feel you may be disappointed, as for the money you spend on one of these you could get something much larger and it to would fit nicely on the G11 as well.

Perhaps continue this via PM or in a new thread guys, seeing as though it's in the IceTrade section.
