1984 Meade 628 6" F8 on GEM

1984 red-tube Meade 6" 1200mm F8 Newtonian (model #628F) on motorized GEM (model #653F)

Made in California and imported new to Western Australia in 1984. One previous owner, all items are original to the scope.

Heavy duty, very stable GEM pier tripod with 240V/50-60Hz RA motor drive for southern hemisphere

Feet threaded for foot-pads or castors

Automatic clutch for use as a 'push-to' scope

Motor drive is accurate, collimation holds well, mirrors cleaned 2 years ago

Right-angle 6x30mm finder, 9mm and 25mm Meade MA eyepieces by Tani Japan, 1.25" focuser

This is an F8 planet killer and has given me the best views of Jupiter I have ever had. Really sharp/great contrast. Always kept indoors, not used very often, it stands in my living room.

Selling due to lack of space. A beautiful vintage scope.

$850 cash pick-up Mandurah WA
