Well Celestron have brought out just released there version of the AIscope a 6inch RASA looks promising

Wow, that's a fast scope. I keep forgetting what "RASA" is but remembered the telescope takes the camera module at the very front instead on a focuser. As to how focus would work I'm confused unless it moves the primary mirror in relation to the camera sensor.


I'm curious what sort of pricing we may get in Aus, I couldn't find any mention of prices anywhere.

Yeah it’s the trend at the moment with a few different all-in-one setups available now but this one certainly would provide a substantial performance boost over its rivals. But this does come at a steep cost as well.

This is essentially an evolution 6 with Hyperstar, asi178mc camera and an ASIAIR+. You could put all of this together yourself for $4750 (say $5k with cables and extras) and you still have the flexibility of a scope that can do visual or longer focal length imaging. Buuuuut, you’d also have to go through the process of learning how to piece it all together and I guess some people want the results from day one and this would certainly do that.

Certainly not cheap at $7K.
I think a person would need to be very well off or dedicated to purchase one though it could be popular in education. Then again I know people who happily throw $200K away on a car.
Anything beyond my 92 model Ford Falcon is a waste of money, LOL.

I have around 250 water bottles here but I give them to a single mum (divorced) I know with 3 young children and the kids like putting them through.
