Copernicus &co - a few more lunar close-ups

A few lunar shots from the past week I hadn't shared yet. Some nice clear and stable conditions in Sydney allowing for some high res long fl lunar shots. Probably some of the most stable sky I've had for lunar shots this year - the view of Copernicus through the binoviewers in those 'stable moments' was very close to the final image posted here -enough to have me exclaiming out loud on a number of occasions

I tried to keep the exposure low as the surface brightness was difficult to contend with, and was happy to reveal some additional detail without blowing out the highlights.

Very nice detail, David. They certainly show the benefits of clear, stable conditions. Rupes Recta is particularly well resolved.

Love the Copernicus so many well resolved tiny craters around and within the crater. Rupus recta stands out beautifully with extra detail along its 100+ Km length. Fabulous pictures, hope I can achieve better in good seeing.

Thanks guys I appreciate the comments. Its been hard to predict the good seeing lately but when it’s on, it’s been lovely!
Dennis- yea I do prefer the more natural feel to lunar images but sometimes it’s really hard with such huge dynamic range involved. I always do a visual session before imaging and sometimes it’s hard to replicate what you see through the eyepiece no matter how hard I try!
