Also had an 250mm mirror done last year by Saintech Sent by post in a mirror box no dramas. Returned within 10 days as I recall. Freshly coated mirrors do look so pretty.
Recoating in this country is a bit expensive when compared to the "States" but comes back to economies of scale I guess. I can lend you the box I used if you need it .
Wayne's work is to the highest standard, I had a 203mm done not so long ago (probably longer than I remember, damn getting old).
I didn't build a box to send the mirror in. I went to Bunnings or supercheap auto (can't remember) and bought a suitable sized Pelican case type thing (safe case or whatever they call them), cut some foam I had from an old foam mattress including a piece to fit over the mirror (dish in one piece to fully enclose the mirror), wrapped the mirror in soft tissue type paper and it turned out to be the best packing I could get.
It came back in the same case which I now use for other astronomy equipment.

BTW I thought there was a coating service in Sydney but apparently not.
There used to be a mob near Epping (Artarmon my son just reminded me) where they sold amazing, expensive telescopes and recoated mirrors but from what I've been told it's long gone and the owner passed away.
They messed my mirror up but there's a chance that's when the owners health went downhill and it wasn't done properly (or not completed). Wayne Sainty did me a huge favour and recovered my mirror to the best of his ability at minimal charge but some scratches done by the previous attempts just couldn't be removed.
Still, it's a top class coating that should last for years, minor scratches don't affect my usage of the 8" newt which is only for visual use.
