Account Detail Retention

I've made several purchases through the IIS website - all good! Made another today, and whilst doing the transfer found I had the account details for those previous purchases all in an automatic "address book" within my internet banking account.

This causes me concern. Should my account be hacked, those details will probably give some wretch some incentive to keep going at it.

As a result, I have deleted ALL those private individual details, except some like power companies, rates etc. Any subsequent purchases, I'll simply have to request transfer details, complete the purchase, and will then delete them immediately from this "feature" my bank has equipped us with.

A little extra effort, but peace of mind. I think we may all be susceptible and need to be on guard.

My bank gives an option as to whether or not details are added to the payee list. For what are likely to be one-off payments I don't add. But yeah, good idea to check occasionally & clear any unneeded details.
