SOLD: Vixen ED115S OTA

OK, so you'll think I'm crazy, cos I only bought this scope a couple of weeks ago. However, it is way too heavy for my TeleVue mount. I decided I would buy it to try it out but I'm actually happy enough with the simplicity of my Dob and I don't want to have to get involved with an EQ mount at this stage (never mind the extra money!).

This scope is approx a year old. Pristine condition except for some marks on the finder, cos for some reason Vixen uses metal screws in the finder holder. The lens is absolutely unmarked. When I bought it there wasn't even any dust on it!

The pictures show a 30cm dovetail that I bought from Bintel and got them to add some holes for attaching to the TV mount. I will keep this dovetail and substitute the standard Vixen one that came with the scope. It is white to match the rings and tube.

Also, the scope comes with the Vixen flip mirror diagonal, not the diagonal shown in the photo (forgot to change it). Nor does it come with the Radian eyepiece! It has the adapter to allow a 2" diagonal to be used.

For those of you debating the price of the Orion/Skywatcher 120ED, this is a very viable alternative. Save $2,000 on the cost of a new 120ED for a small sacrifice in aperture, and probably a gain in optical quality.

My asking price is $2,800 or nearest offer. Inspections welcome. I'm at Centennial Park in Sydney. Can arrange delivery at additional cost. Have the original packaging.

PM me if interested.

Thanks

Morton
