l went to order one of these today but no go, for those interested they will not be available for sale until Sept/Oct.
There will be a couple released for retail demos only but not for sale until the full release.

That's a serious old camera you're buying there . May I be rude and ask what price you've seen it for?

Cheers

This is a serious pro/sports camera body offering 10 fps max 110 JPEG or 30 RAW. The highest in the industry as far as I know.

Mick are you primarily buying this camera for terrestrial/sports photography?
If so then you won't regret it, it's awesome.

If you're buying it mainly for astro, IMHO I don't see the value in it, you're better off with a dedicated CCD setup. Actually people are producing stunning results with the 350D/400D, even getting them modded to be fully cooled units.
If it's because it offers live view to aid in focusing then it's a hefty price tag to pay for the feature.

It's also not suitable for planetary work IMO, if that was the goal then a DMK or other dedicated mono is more appropriate.
You won't be able to work with such a huge data load for stacking purposes.

Again let me say if it's primarily for terrestrial/sports then congratulations, it's one of the best models offering twin digic II processors and a host of other improvements.
