It's been a while since I last posted, but still read the forums every day.
I found an amazing video of a christmas lightshow which was created using rgb leds -

The leds are known as ws2811 pixels and are programmed using software called xlights.
Apart from astronomy, I have lots of hobbies and was thinking it would be great to learn this and maybe setup something small next year.
The technology available for hobbies is quite amazing...
