What a dream

Had a little afternoon nap and dreamed a most incredible dream, so real, color sound feeling ..now dont run off with wild thoughts ...nothing like you may be thinking went on .
But when I awoke I was surprised to see I was only asleep for less than 15 minutes and yet days pasted in the dream with such clarity I then looked at the calender as well to confirm it was only 15 minutes.
Some people seem not to remember dreams, some have night mares I find it such a strange but absolutely "real" state... could we be slipping into one of the many Universes proposed by string theory I wonder .
Any thoughts all you dreamers .

Alex, I was lead to believe that we dreamt in monochrome and in real time.

There are those that believe that we Astral travel during dreams.
Our spirit leaves our body and makes it's own way around.
Does that fit into string theory Alex?
When I have flying dreams, they seem very very real. Exhilerating. ( gotta watch out for those powerlines though)

I'm not sure about the rest of you but I definitley do dream in colour at times, and like Alex have had dreams whose time scale goes way way beyond the time actually passed sleeping.

I may have read or heard something once to the effect that dreaming in colour is a thing that only starts as an older child / teen / something. I could be very wrong on this so I'll try to look it up somewhere.

I awoke from a dream one time, only to have the events of the dream happen to me for real I thought, then I awoke again, and realised I was only dreaming I was dreaming .

Oh and btw, it wasn't really a dream but a nightmare, kinda made it worse.
Do I need therapy?

Funny you should mention 'dreams' I had one last night about twin baby lynx'
in a tree much like in this pic but there were two. Also a man who looked a lot like Tarzan was sitting on a rock in front of the tree and behind the tree was an antelope trying to get to the lynx, I could see the horns betweem the branchs and then I woke up... I wonder what it meant and yes it was in colour because I remember thinking the baby lynx looked a lot like my kitten Garfield.

The funny thing is I am slightly color blind and as a result I place little emphasis on color but I dream in color have since ever I can remember. Never noticed time running cause you go to bed wake up and dont notice...thats why today I particularly noticed the time thing.

I dont know but the way I see string theory give it another 20 years and it will fit into everything. Dreams feel so real and are so vivid I wonder if we go anywhere but I dont believe we do.
I have flying dreams always by the sea side leaping from cliffs and flying out over the sea and back.

mmmm I dont know if they mean anything they are a sorting process on my understanding but when you find yourself sorting stuff you have never seen before I dont know how it applies.

Leon may I ask do you ever see things that you have not seen on TV, in books or places that seem unknown to you in a waking state.
I find it strange for example seeing houses and country side that is "new".
I had a dream once that was played out exactly the next day where a caught a bird with th eonly differnece between the dream and the event being the bird in the dream was female and the bird in reality was a male.
I had told my mother the dream in detail before the event such the caused me to think it was not my mind playing tricks and recalling the dream in hind sight.. I only thought of that this morning after some 50 years but that was very strange.
Maybe the dream of Venus brought back that childhood memory.
We (Mum and me) explained the bird dream that there was a coincidence only in seeing the bird (no big deal same way home from school each day) and the way I caught it (throwing my jumper over it) was probably using a memory generated by the dream..she level headed and pointed this out for at first it seemed like I had a glimpse of the future via the dream, but that is of course nonsence because there is no way you can dream the future. Some people thinkmay do so but I think it is the way I suggest, the dream gives you the waking idea to act upon. The bird thing was a perfect example of everything ordinary as every day before and simply a coincidence that I had the opportunity to catch a bird, which I did drawing on a dream for the method.

I had a dream once that i fell out of bed and cut my foot open on a surfboard fin. I was screaming in my dream of pain. I woke up the next morning to find that i had fallen out of bed and there was a big cut in the bottom of my foot. My mother also said that i was screaming. Very weird .

Oh I've watched lots of 'Tarzan' movies

Maybe more to the point is this interesting but sad article on the state of the environment that I found today concerning the 'Lynx'

It is so sad the animals that we force off this planet .

Still we have your dream?
It is those sorts of things that makes you think about things like this.

I mean what do you make of it? the feeling of connection is something that I seem to recall.
I dont know other than I am beat and may run off to see what I can dream up .

The point also about the bird dream was the first time I noticed color because thats how I figured the sex of the bird in the dream.. males blue nose, females brown nose, still mucked it up as I saw brown in the dream..a female bird.
Anyways pleasant dreams

Funny you should mention the powerlines.. Thats been my biggest worry when dream flying.. I just take off (arms out), usually at night and fly at low level around the district. I worry about the powerlines even in the dream, have not hit any yet but..

A mate once told me that when he gave up smoking and was using patches he experienced very wild and colourful dreams.
He said that when they were good they were awesome but when they were bad they were worse than the best horror movies.

Cheers

I can tell you that my dreams are definitly in colour and have been since as young as i can remember.I have very strong vivid dreams almost every night and every now and again something will happen in a moment during the day that relates directly of what i dreamt about the prevoius night.
I also quite often dream of places and people i have never seen or met and can still remember dreams i have had in my childhood and some times dream dreams again many years later.
