Moon in colours and Jupiter.

Hi
I took an image of the Moon ,Prime Focus with my 10 inch F5.6 scope, EOS 300d at ISO 100. Used Photoshop to greatly increase saturation. This is the result.

I was surprised to see the different colours.
Using a 16mm nagler and 2.8x barlow and Afocal 9-method with the camera I got this view of Jupiter and Io (4 images stacked, unsharp masked etc with Photoshop) http://www.users.on.net/~josiah/temp/jupiter.jpg

Wow that is a very nice image of the moon!

I don't know why you got those colours - I could guess and say that there was some IR or UV that came through as well and confused your camera into seeing "more" red and blue than it shoulda, but only a guess.

cheers, Bird

That moon looks great. I wonder if there is a geological reason the colours came out that way. Anyone got any ideas.

Looks Great!!! Looks like every part is sharp and in focus. Now, was that Photoshop that put the colors in there or that's what how it started out? Sorry, I get confused easily ... :-)

Great images Scott!

Regarding the colour moon, here's a few explanations..

and this website shows how to do it:

Well done Scott it's a georgeous image.

Nice shots, especially the Jupiter shot. Can you see that level of detail or is that enhanced in the stacking process??
