Synscan Polar Alignment Routine

Just watched Dylan O’Donnell’s Star stuff on Encoders etc...
He initially mentioned about polar alignment using the Synscan polar alignment routine, as now he has a Skywatcher EQ8-Rh Pro mount and at some stage will run through this routine for the benifit of his viewing audience
I’ve been using this method successfully for over 4 years now on various mounts and at different sites ( Sydney and South Coast NSW )
Dylan
Attached is my documented procedure if interested

Cheers
Martin

Nice write up Martin, I haven't done it that way since I started using my laptop. Now it's Sharpcap for polar alignment ( a lot quicker than polemaster) pick a star and slew to, then take 10 sec to solve and sync mount job done. Framing and mosaic wizard in SGP is great to use, it's just a shame APT doesn't offer the same.

I did this initially, but now are using SharpCap. Done PA in under 5 minutes.
