prawn and dip with RASA8

taken ANZAC day managed to get some time on ngc6231.

3 hours and 8 min at gain 201 with the ASI294pro and RASA8

taken in bortle6/7 skies

Come up pretty good for being shot in the burbs. Why so many difference exposure times?

i have found that i can get better star colours with the shorter shots added in the mix

You certainly won't be saturating any stars at 1s and 5s

No and that is just the point. By building up the information from the burbs I think this part of the process is important. Maybe mind over matter but life with a OSC is a different beast to mono.

Couldn't agree more! I've been using OSC for about a year now and it is completely different to mono; got one on the way to get back onto some narrowband. I'm trying to decide whether to shoot from bortle 7 or bortle 2-3 tomorrow night. It's about picking your subjects.

Take your latest image for instance, getting all of that Ha from suburbia isn't easy where as under dark skies it just jumps out at you

I also toyed with the exposure times, 3min is pushing it far too much, as for 5minutes is a white wash. I have now learnt that 120seconds is the optimum exposure in town. At duckadang or astrofest I do 5 minute shots. Could do longer but haven't
