NGC 6397 Globular Cluster

Captured NGC 6397 a magnitude 6 globular cluster in the constellation of Arae
40 x 2 minute subs
15 x darks
ISO 800
PHD2 guided
Un dithered subs
A small but interesting cluster

Probably should have bumped up the ISO to 1600 as the histogram was less than 1/4 and this may have given more detail and a brighter image when stretching the stacked image in Startools

That's a nice cluster, Martin and you've captured the colours well. Wow, nearly one and a half hours on a star cluster, must be fairly dim and distant because it's not overexposed.

Thanks Mick
Yeh it’s on the dim side at mag 6 but no issue for my 8”
I would have liked to capture at ISO 1600 and compare the difference
Maybe next time
