DMK - IC Capture - ROI question.

I'm hoping a regular DMK user here can help me before I go digging around in the IC Capture program.

I had a session last night to try out the DMK under the stars. Three of the LRGB sets I captured I used the ROI function. The first series of shots worked out as I expected (image 1). The last two sessions (image 2 and 3) ended up at an incredible 720x480 pixels. ??????? Wot tha! The chip is only 640x480 wide. What setting did I adjust to bring this about? Anyone know?

All taken with 8" sct and 2.5x powermate.

Keep up the good work Paul - I've yet to use mine so carry on discovering the esoteric stuff so I won't trip over it.

Cheers

That’s terrific news Paul – it’s good to see you getting such excellent results. I’ve been busy with other things, so astronomy has suffered a little, although the weather over the last 2 months has been the biggest contributor to my absence.

Cheers

I had to push hard to be allowed out last night Dennis. After 3 months convalescing my lovely partner still has me a bit wrapped up in cotton wool.

Hang on to her Paul – sounds like you’ve got a good ‘un. I feel the same way too.

Cheers

I ended up at 720x480 last time I captured to? I have no idea why - I assume I chose the wrong codec instead of Y800.

Don't bother with ROI - it's software ROI not hardware so it's not going to give you any benefit in terms of frame rate.

Bizzare.

Maybe not Mike but with my excellent tracking (well not last night 'cos I haven't polar aligned for months) by using ROI I can do away with ppmcentre for cropping and centering. One less process to go through.
