Hi all. A quick report on the sa(i)d event. 5 W.A.A.C.ers turned up at the designated site, sat down & talked while the moon rose out of the distant sea mist that covered the horizon to about 5degs. It was a lovely orange/copper colour in the mist but as it rose higher, it became it's usual yellow/off white.

Neil set-up his LX 8" & we all had a quick look at Saturn, Jupiter & the moon.
Rowena, (proud 2nd hand owner of 10" LX200), took some pics. of us & the moon.

Neil also brought along his laptop, so we had a look at Starry Nights to see where in the world the total eclipse would occur, but nothing showed up.(Neil's fault)!

Well, the moon rose ever higher, as is the norm, but nothing seemed to change much, just got brighter. There was a "ssslight darkening" effect, but due to a light cloud cover coming in at around 8.30, we decided to give the rest of the event a miss.
Left at around 9.00pm.
All in all, up to it's usual non event.

Please, don't tell me when the next partial is on!

Still, it does get you out of the house for a while.
Regards,

L.
