Sampson Mount Drive

Guys,
I have an old Astro Optical Supplies Sampson mount, but the drive is missing the gearbox. Does anyone know the details of this gearbox, such as reduction ratio, output teeth etc? Or even an RS part number?

Thanks,
Jason.

Contact "Aster" or "Astir" or similar on IIS ..hes the guy that actually made these drives and mounts for Astro Optical and probably has the drawings somewhere.

Sadly no information available from Alexander.

If anyone has a Samson or Goliath and are willing to take a photo or two of the drive it would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Jason.

I used to have a samson replica but much larger (2" stainless steel shafts), it was a monster, and i had the original drive and worm assembly machined out to accept the larger shaft.
I sold it to someone in Melton, about 2 or 3 years ago now.
I'll try and see who i sold it too.

Theo.

Attached are a couple of photos of the drive on my old 10".
It was bought from Astro Optical in the early 1980's and is designed to
fit inch and a quarter shaft. Hope it helps. Cheers, Paul.
