Proposals for March

On Saturday 10th Mar at 5.45AM looking north east.
The crescent moon, Mars, Saturn, Jupiter, Antares all together.

However it would take about 105 degrees FOV to get them all.
Leave out Jupiter and the FOV would be about 22 degrees.

I might just have a look with the eyeball scopes.

Also, on the 10th, the moon rises at about 0:11, and astronomical twilight ends ~21:00. So that gives about 3 hours of imaging time.

Looking south Crux will be in a great spot.

Or nearby in Centauris IC2944.

So maybe, to continue the bird theme, how about the 'Running Chicken'!

See the attached star map.

Wide field of the Southern cross will get the chicken as well.

Or for those with pointy scopes, choice to zoom in a bit.

Thats what we need Peter. Something that will get folk thinking about having a go.

Folk following this may not think to look up a star chart but with your directions my decide to have a go.

I dont think I can manage it in Sydney myself but thats ok... all I do down there is try to get the scope aligned or rebuild the mount ...countless times... up here not that much either.

When I bought the eight inch I was waiting for M31 to move to a reasoanable hour...its been so long with so little sky for me.

I have been thinking of a trip out West and spent yesterday afternoon looking on google Earth...Ironically I found I little place with nothing but the pub, with accomodation and looked around in street view you could see you could stay there and image in the grounds around the cabins er maybe just cabin...then looking down the street I could see there were puddles on the ground..such is my ability to bring rain..I only have to think of going someplace and it rains it seems.

I think I could break droughts with simply announcing my intention to visit.

I was thinking about going to Chille but I dont want to cause mud slides.

Anyways may I thank you for being the guiding force behind this encouraging thing for beginnners I expect your following will grow. Great job.

This is off topic, but who cares...

I say with all sincerity, you should write a book.

And guess you would have read 'Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy'?

Maybe call it...'Ice In Space'...

I did once .

It was called "Memorandum and Articles of Association" for the first pyrotechnic company in Australia as far as I know.

It was a book to set out what the company can do..so it has to be very thoughtful and complete and cover all possible things well past making fireworks just in case the company branched out to other business or aquire other businesses..which of course I said it could do... I gave this thing its abilities I was like its father and mother all at once. All that this entity could do came from the book I wrote setting out what it could do.

Usually we would just pull a precedent out of the safe which would be a copy of a trading company or a retail business..whatever...but there was no precedent for a company to make fireworks...so I was picked as the mug to do it.

Not exact but typical text ran....And the company may aquire, property both real and personal either by purchase or entering to a lease of such property with either owners or sub leasees for the purpose but not limited to erecting dwellings, erecting factories both for the purpose of producing or supplying or storage of but not limited to fireworks, explosives, etc etc but not limited to purchase or leasing but the company may occupy upon mere licience etc etc...about 200 pages I think..very creative and if you ever want a book to read to get to sleep I would recommmend it.

I regard verbosity as an art form and often say if I have nothing to say I can take three pages just for the introduction.

But by posting things that are tiresomly long and tedious I know that my post will be rarely read and you would be surprised the things I hide right in the middle of some of them.

Thanks for the thought.

But this is about you and I say you are doing a great job and I only hope you receive the appreciation that you deserve (hidden message).

Only twenty copies were made of the Memorandum and Articles of Association and only a few Copies went to the Bank and the accountant the rest sat unread in the office of my employer and probably I doubt if a copy ever went to the actual business premises that made sold and otherwise distributed fireworks, gun powder and associated products but not limited to only displays for entertainment..etc ..if the company still exists they would sit in the solicitors office till this day.

I later set up a business selling "Self Companies" but I had a friend draw the Memorandum and Aricles of Association to cover any business we could think of...just doing the list was a task... but one Memorandum and Articles of Association was enough for me and probably the reason that I do not care about spelling or grammar but not limited to caring solely about these etc...

And I sold many unread books when the self company was selling so to write a book now I guess I could improve on the readership of the past.

Sweet, that a crop of a larger image taken with a sony RX100 at 70mm so it should be easy for almost everyone to get a good shot of.

If your still having troubles finding it, it looks to be half way between crux and carina nebular, I can pop up a bigger image is anyone wants to get a better reference.
