Longmore 3

This is another obscure planetary nebula in Puppis. Mike imaged it with rather less focal length a while back. It's quite a pretty thing with intricate structure and I think it deserves more attention.

Cheers

It's a nice one Steve and not a bad result there, yeah it was a Sakib suggestion too ...with your slower scope it would likely benefit from more exposure though.

Interesting planetary with what looks like a lot of diffuse hydrogen in the area. Cannot quite remember Mikes off hand but you’re both getting requests from the same source.

Very nice, Steve! I've only ever seen your rendition and Mike's of this object and they are both very cool.

Yes that's quite correct. His name's Sakib Rasool

Thanks Mike. More exposure would probably help as it does with just about anything but what I've got is all I could fit in last night.

Yet another out of left field...the long focal length is really well handled and shows some great details.

Nice one Steve

A beautiful image.

Looks very like a jellyfish, with those four distinct arc-like things inside.

Thanks Ross. New to me too. Apparently this is one of the only two colour images in existence the other one being Mike's of a year or two ago.

Thanks M&T. I just uploaded a new version which is somewhat better I think.

Nice Steve, another little gem out there. It's amazing the variety of shapes and configurations out there.

Thanks Paul. Yes, this is a particularly attractive planetary. I'm currently working on another one in Canis Minor that should turn out interesting but not as intricate as Longmore 3.
