Maybe satanist or what?

It is such an overwhelming experience. People react to these things in different ways. Does it make them any less human if they express their emotions during such an incredible event? Referring to them as "satanists"? Wow.

I have just witnessed my first, and yes I was excited, I clapped and after it was over all the of us nearby high fived.. It took a lot of planing to get here and see it and it all worked plus it was an awesome experience, may never get to see another, so if that makes me "stupid" then so be it.
Further, coming from a poster who regularly posts conspiricy theories and abuses those who query his evidence, calling people stupid is a bit rich.

Good on you, Malcolm! Glad you got to witness it.
I remember when I saw my first aurora in Iceland. There may have been a few yowls and tears. Same sort of thing.
Also, re: below; two words -- cognitive dissonance.

I still remember the total eclipse that passed through Victoria in October 1976.
I took an 8mm movie camera and my trusty C8 to view it, I still reckon it has to be one of the most awesome events I have ever seen.
I don't think I'll see another but I can still remember seeing the cows and sheep in surrounding paddocks settling in to go to sleep and then getting up again looking confused.
I also remember the look of awe on everyone after it finished, there was also disappointment because it was so quick and everyone wanted it to go longer.

I recall the 1976 one, unfortunately that is because they made us all stay inside and watch it on TV rather than because I actually saw it! I was 5 at the time.
The nearest I have been since was a fairly deep partial sometime in the 1980's from Strathallan (Near Echuca) where it was a significant enough eclipse for the birds to go quiet and for it to get noticeably dark and cool. The most striking thing I can recall from that one was the shadows of leaves and other small/slender things turning into arcs.

I blocked him yonks ago, so I don't even see the garbage he spouts any more. Thank goodness, from the looks.
My first eclipse would have been back in the 70's or early 80's in Perth. I was too young to think much of it.
I did happen to be just out of HangZhou a couple of years back, when a totality passed over there. What a set of sites.
The entire landscape darkening, and all of the street lights being triggered to come on. You wouldn't think it would get that dark, but it sure did. I don't think the temperature changed much, as the humidity all week was well over 90%.
What was even more amazing, however, was watching from my hotel room, as people scattered for shelter. The streets and Memorial parks were devoid of human and vehicular traffic. Something to behold, and I just wish that I had recorded the video of it.
Oh well, Australia has 8 totalities over the next century. The next in 2028. Book now to avoid disappointment!

I would like to know how stupid you have to be to believe that NASA used the eclipse so as to spin the Earth backwards.
Considering that the eclipse is only visible from a narrow swathe across the Earth, I guess the rest of us witnessed the change...

Perhaps, but there is an ample supply of idiotic, non-scientific, totally uninformed ignoramus BS "theory" put forth by those with less than a complete synapse

The eclipse in north Queensland was exactly the same.
You two must be icemen.
No feeling of awe or excitement.
