I actually do quite a bit of FX dealing in my job in $US, €EUR and $HK. The rates over the past week are the best $US rates we have had in almost the past 2 years. There may be a little bit more in it but it won't get anywhere near to parity (like it was a few years ago) any time soon.

I would be getting ready to jump in pretty soon.

Cheers

Brought Aussie dollars over here in 2013, converted to USD - around parity. My funds here are in USD. Will come back in a year and have to convert USD back to AUD, so a very weak AUD (maybe 40-50 cents) next July/August would do me just fine.

Ok, I'm being selfish

When President Trump turns the USA into effectively two Saudi Arabias worth of energy, I expect the US dollar to go higher. And as they use that cheap energy to power their industry, while everyone else is making their energy heaps dearer, expect the US dollar to go up even more.

Fortunately, the Aussie dollar is doing very well against the Euro. Vacations in Europe are more interesting and better value than vacations in the USA's major tourist spots (except for the cost of hire cars).
Regards,
Renato
