Fall Down the Stairs, Seems to be Good for You

This is the most bazaar think i have every seen, but it is absolutely true.

Our little toy Poodle is getting on a bit actually 14 on the first of September, anyway over the last two years he has had this hacking cough from time to time especially after laying down for a while, which he dose often.

We have taken him to two vets about this and they both couldn't put their finger on it, so we just have to put up with it.

Anyway this when the story gets really strange, a week a ago we left him home like we do often and he is fine until we return.

This particular day we returned and there was some drops of blood on the stairs and here is the dog very sore and sorry and as stiff as a board, and a small cut to his head.

He has recovered, we don't know what happened but suspect he fell down the stairs, they are pretty high.

But guess what, he has no cough anymore, so buggered if i know what happened, but it is true

Perhaps he had something lodged somewhere in his respiratory tract,
and the fall dislodged it, anyway, all's well that ends well.

Hi Leon,

I’ am an animal lover but must confess to having a laugh imagining your poodle falling down stairs ‘Youtube style’ until of course I read of the blood.

My Mum had a poodle many years ago that developed a cough later in life and a vet said poodles were prone to it. Don’t remember much other than that though.

This reminded me of hearing about an ambulance in England taking a patient to hospital suffering a heart attack. A medic in the back was working on route to keep him alive when the ambulance was involved in an accident ending up on it’s side. When they checked their patient his heart had started again.

Hi Leon,

A similar thing happened to our cat, from the day we got him at eight weeks he never purred. then at the age of four we took him to the Vet to have his teeth cleaned.

This procedure involved anaesthetic and a tube down his throat. Upon getting him home he suddenly developed the loudest purr I have ever heard on a cat. It literally could keep you awake at night.

Strange things do happen.
