Should i get pixinsight or save for gear?

just wondering if pixinsight really does wonders to your pics. i tried the trial (expired now) to receive a, not really different picture from dss and photoshop (http://imgur.com/gallery/nSAMV)
So, Should i save for PI or get gear (only got a dslr, kit lens, and ioptron skytracker)
I have the raw lights for orion (1hr). https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...lE?usp=sharing
Can you please process these with PI and i can compare with my original

I also tried PI briefly and quickly dropped it to return to Photoshop. Some people swear by PI but for others it is confusing and not at all easy to use, especially if you have a lengthy Photoshop background imho. The PI guys will be recruiting you shortly.
As to your image, as processed by you, i actually prefer the PI colours but that can probably be fixed in Photoshop version with saturation and balance. It is hard to know how good your Photoshop skills are from that image. Which version of Photoshop are you using?

If you've already bought PS and are now weighing up PI vs gear that's a different equation to should I buy PI or PS.

How can people make an informed recommendation on PI vs gear if you don't tell them what gear you desire? Do you want to upgrade to GOTO mount, telescope vs lenses, upgrade your current lenses, CCD mono camera vs DSLR, mod your DSLR, guiding etc? It's almost certain that a gear upgrade is going to be more expensive than PI.

I guess I'm a "PI guy" by your definition, however as you can see above, I like to think my response is balanced and thought out. While my preference is for PI over PS, it may be that Logan's money is better spent on a gear upgrade. Depends on where he wants to go. If he's happy sticking with Sky Tracker and DSLR, my recommendation would probably be to spend $$ on modding DLSR for better IR/Ha response, or perhaps upgrading kit lens to a quality prime like 135L. Good bang for buck.
