NP127is

For those wanting to know the difference to the newer NP127is , the newer model model (2010 onwards) was upgraded with:
  • FeatherTouch / TV / FocusMate 10:1 micron focuser pinion assembly upgrade
  • Longer Captive Anodised Dew Shield
  • Upgraded Coatings
  • A Stainless Steel Lens Cell was added
  • Front Clear Lens Cap was replaced with a Solid Anodised Black Metal Cap.

There are multiple "anecdotal" reports (CN, AstroMart et al) that the Pertzval design was tweaked in the later models, however I dont think Al Nagler ever confirmed or denied the fact.

Magic Scope none the less. A great buy at the price. And an awesome xmas present for someone.

Stafan -Thanks for the clarification on the upgrade- appreciated!

Please note that the existing generic focuser is dual speed and perfectly satisfactory for my usage although the pinion is not a Feathertouch

The dew shield and cover is of high quality according to Televues high standards

Cheers

Bruno
