Bright nebulae (BN)

This is a list of bright nebulae. (BN)
* These are the best ones.

M 1*, 8*, 16*, 17*, 20*, 42*, 76*

NGC 281, 1435*, 1499, 1977, 1999, 2024, 2174*, 2237*, 2359, 2467*, 3199*
3324, 3372*, 3581*, 6188, 6334, 6590, 6726*, 6960-92*, 7000*, 7380, 7538

IC 1318, 2948*, 4606, 4628*

Observing nebulae is challenging and rewarding.
Use a low power for large ones and a UHC filter for emission nebulae.

This diagram shows the location of some bright nebulae in the arms of the Milky Way.

Timely post Glen. I have my first dob on the way so I'll have to start finding things on my own. I remember some of those numbers from way back before the LX90 computer took control of my brain:-)
