Hassans Walls Lookout night shooting/Meteor Shower?

Hi all,

I am finding a new place for nightsky shooting/meteor shower for beginners (my friends). Do you guys think Hassans Walls Lookout can give it a go?

Thanks.

Sure it's a great spot if you are happy to go that far !

There are several suitable spots so you should be able to get away from the local teenagers doing what they tend to do at night.

If you're prepared to take the gear out a bit onto the ridge you may find some interesting rock formations... Better than a picnic hut in patch of dirt and a concrete water tank under a scruffy tree.x

Well there's a very wide area at the old (abandoned) airstrip on Bell's Line of Rd between Lithgow and Clarence. This appears as a white gash on Google Earth.

The other great location recently found is off the great western highway east of Mt Victoria - take the road to Victoria Falls and head a couple of km into the national park, it runs along a bald ridge and you'll have this to yourselves. Excellent horizons all round - you can even see the CBD and the harbour bridge (!)
