Trifid and Lagoon Nebula

I decided to target these last week when there was a small break in the weather.

Skywatcher Star Adventurer
Nikon D3000
55 - 300 lens @300mm f/5.6 ISO1600
About 30 minutes in total of 1 minute exposures

I think this is the best alignment I can get with my tripod.
Hopefully a new sturdy tripod will enable me to get nice round stars.
Still, this is my favourite image to date.
I think the Trifid Nebula is very beautiful!

A very nice start Luke into the 'murky' world of AP.

That's pretty much a perfect FOV for the area, you've captured it well

That's beautiful Luke, really good FOV, almost mosaic like, for only 30 mins you sure caught a lot of data.
I can only imagine what 4 hours worth would look like, it would be awesome.

Cheers
Bill

Smashing result on a tripod. Great framing too.
