C11 replacement/equivalent?

Folks - I'm anticipating an insurance payout for replacement of my water-damaged (= totally rooted!) C11 XLT OTA + everything in the optical path & even the Motofocus....

I can find only one Oz supplier for such an OTA.

Can anyone suggest an equivalent scope? Would a C9.25 Edge offer parity (other than light scooping capacity)?

Cheers!

Dean

The options are:

Another C11,
A meade LX200 10" ACF (slightly smaller) or LX200 12" ACF (slightly larger).

The C9.25 is a significant step down in aperture to the extent it is not equivalent, if the insurer is asking; you're being short-changed. And I'd insist on EDGE HD (Celestron) or ACF (Meade) as the insurer won't know the difference.

Thanks for your thoughts, Wavy.
To my astonishment, the insurers bent over backwards, coached me in not using the word 'flooded' and, within 24 hours, lined up an in-stock replacement C11 XLT OTA (at 2X what I paid back in 2012....).

And all of that was done with one phone call a & a couple of emails to the supplier.

Bloody brilliant!

I'm curious which insurer you're with Dean? Always good to know which companies are good or bad to deal with.
