On OIII at least, your mono won't be much different from a modded DSLR, shy of a tiny bit of resolution. Actually the modded DSLR with its microlenses might gather a bit more light. OIII activates both blue and green pixels in the Bayer array.
I also think you're being held back by your processing tools, but that's another story altogether
