Lost scope control Win 10 roll back to 7

Hi all,
Bit of a saga but the story goes like this.
Decided to try Win 10 on the lappy but found it didn't support all the hardware as the lappy is a few years old.
I was happy with the look and feel of Win 10 by the way but hardware issues forced a roll back to Win 7 Pro where all had been well for a long time.

The roll back went well with the warning that some software may need to be reinstalled. Tested all the main programs and was happy they all booted and appeared normal.

Sunday decided to get the scope out only to find TheSky6 would not sync up with EQMOD and ASCOM.
Re-did all the setup and config of Teleapi driver and NEQ6 mount but no joy.
The computer see's everything is there all the ports show up in devices with connections but TheSky6 won't remember the setup.

I keep getting an error message when I try to connect the scope saying "You have not Configured your Telescope"

Reinstalled the latest ASCOM, EQMOD, Teleapi.dll, ran the repair for TheSky6 and I think I followed all the other instructions for working with the TheSky6 and EQMOD but still no joy.

I can run EQMOD stand alone and drive the scope manually but can't get TheSky6 to remember its settings.

On top of that MaximDL5 won't connect to my Camera's either, QSI and a Lodestar, haven't looked to far at that yet.

Be very happy for any clues to this one.

have you tried running the EQASCOM toolbox and deleting the ini files? http://eq-mod.sourceforge.net/faqs/runtimeerrs.html

this seems to tidy up most problems with my system, but I have no experience with TheSky6

Thanks Ray.
I think I've found the problem, Net Framework 3.5.1 is missing and at this stage I've been unable to reinstall it.
Windows has installed Version 4xxx and putting 3.5.1 back is a problem but as ASCOM and EQMOD need it I'll have to persist.
I did Have an old image of the drive that I was too lazy to update before the Windows 10 exercise so this is my own silly fault.
Anyway I'll keep playing until I get reinstalled, it shows up as being turned on in Windows features but doesn't actually appear in the installed list of programs and Windows updates.
Bit of a Mystery still. Will try the ASCOM tool box as well and let you know how I go.

Cheers

Such a simple fix in the end after reinstalling this that and the other and tearing the little hair left out as well

Anyway what it was, TheSky6, "Run as administrator" fixed it.
All good now.

3.51 should be a standard part of Windows 7, but may not be turned on.

go to
Start
Control Panel
Programs and Features
Turn Windows Feature on and off
Scroll and select .Net Framework 3.51

will require a re boot

If it's not there, download here:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/down....aspx?id=25150
3.51 and 4 can coexist. Some older programs require 3.51.

for further info see here:

hope this helps

Gary
