This is an old Jaegers 6" f5 Refractor with a 2" GSO Crayford focuser (2 speed). The lens has simple coatings and some minor imperfections that do not affect the images. The tube is steel and heavy but the scope is fairly compact and manageable.
I've enjoyed it a lot for low power sweeping. It is ideal for this and will give around a 3 degree field of view at 24.5x mag with a Nagler 31mm.
This is a specialised scope for low power use and as such works best with highly corrected eyepieces such as Naglers, Panoptics and Ethos. I will not be including any eyepieces with this sale. It is ideal for comets and dark sky observation. It is not designed for viewing the moon and planets and I don't recommend it for that purpose.
The deal does include the home made pier and Berry mount. The 2" GSO Dielectric diagonal is included. Also included is the Rigel finder.
This offering is for local sale in the Perth area. I am happy to demonstrate the scope for genuine buyers. I prefer pick-up but may be able to assist with delivery in the metro area, we can discuss that.
