Gum 15 HaRGB

Here's Gum 15, a quite dim object.

Another processing challenge as the Ha washes out the RGB to leave a very pink nebula. I managed to massage the data in PS to get back most of the colour, but it's still not quite what it should be.

Larger version here

Cheers

I've got to say that looks simply beautiful Stuart, what an awesome nebula, well framed and captured - despite the faintness.

just out of interest what type of method do you use to blend the Ha in? do you follow the starizona options? https://starizona.com/acb/ccd/software/ps_hargb.aspx

Cheers

Delicious as it is. Well done.

If you have an [OIII] filter and a spare night or two, there seems to be quite a bit of it:

Very best,

Hi Mike,

Thanks, I don't think that I've ever had an image called delicious before!

I also found the image you linked to, but I think the blue in that image is reflection nebulosity rather than OIII emissions.

Here's 30 minutes of OIII quickly processed together (which shows I need to do some flat frames!!), seems to be nothing there.

Cheers
Stuart
