Saw this view live and phoned a SEQAS friend, Julie Straayer to please photograph. Julie kindly supplied the image and details of her image processing.
23rd August 2015 at 19:07. (First Quarter Moon was 23/08/15 05:32).
Taken with SONY Xperia Z3 phone. Skywatcher 150 pro Mak on Celestron AVX mount. Used app Camera Fv5 and Stargazer 12mm eyepiece. Photo cropped and finished with the app Aviary.
I reckon this makes a great astrophotograph target at the right time of the lunar cycle.
The face looking back at me was WOW. I had some issues resizing the original photograph from 2.3M to 186 KB for this attachment. Am now happy with the result.

I don't want to give anyone the wrong impression. Julie Straayer took the photo and did all the image processing as reported. All I did was make the file size small enough to download to IIS.
