VY Canis Majoris

Hiper giant, it has a radius of approximately 1,420 ± 120 solar radius.3,900 light-years from Eart. It has luminosity of 300,000 times of the Sun. 5,000 light years away from Earth. Its surface would extend beyond the orbit of Jupiter.

Hi Jorge, nice pic.
could you please explain your post a bit better?
I am confused as too your distances.
you have two distances for this object.
I also would have thought the star would be much redder as it is a Red Super giant.
I note that you have no nebulosity in you image?
I can see the nebula in my 16" scope on a good night
This is not a criticism just an inquiry.

Cool image. But, as Ron said. Isn't VY Canis Majoris a red hyper giant?

Huummmm! I agree. I used this star to adjust focus and I wrote that it was canismaj. But I really don't remember exactly who was it.

I liked the image of this star, because this I published. I tried astrometry.net and for my surprise ... she is Sirius !
