blue mountains

Hey all,
I was on a strike team out to the blue mountains last night for the fires and saw a tanker doing protection for what looked like an observatory dome somewhere along (i think tableland road)
Does anyone know anything about this?

If this was at the western end of Hordern Rd, yes it used to be an observatory run by an old friend who passed away several years ago, he used to open it quite regularly for visitors for a modest donation. The property was subsequently sold and I have no idea whether the current owner uses it.
