Earthquake in Kilcoy

We had an M2.8 quake near where I live. I didn't feel it though, it would be hard to tell the difference between a couple of passing cattle trucks shaking the window panes and a small earth quake. LOL.
The memes started almost as soon as it happened.

I remember a few months when we had one here on the Sunshine Coast. I was asleep at the time, and thought someone had come and pushed the side of the bed. I went back to sleep

Also experienced one in Honolulu when in the hotel high up. THAT shook just enough to make you want to be outside on terra firma!

we were on the other spectrum where we had flash flooding rain.

It is funny how subtle they can be. We felt a tremor near Kilmore some years ago but had no idea at the time. The couch started shaking and we thought one of the dogs was having a scratch while leaning up against it but when we looked, no dog! Then the Facebook posts started popping up and we realised what it was.

Resonance is a funny thing, a shaking couch but not so much as a clink from the crystal cabinet next to it.

LOL at that first image.
I experienced one in Albion Park on the South Coast of NSW in the mid 60's as a child that shook everything, and it was a really unsettling experience. The next morning the street had a crack running half it's length. Not much of one (maybe 15cm wide and 30 deep), but exciting for a 7 year old to play with his matchbox cars and plastic soldiers in :-)
