Life's getting in the way of my Astronomy!

It's sad! It looks like a great night for observing/imaging I'm feeling shattered! I don't think I can do it...

I knocked off work on Friday arvo, had a quick shower and then drive to Sydney airport to pick up my step daughter. Her flight arrived at 10:00pm, so I didn't get home till 1:00am. Then up at 8:30 or so and I've spent all day today helping my daughter move house (again!)...oh man... 6 loads of furniture and stuff!

Not that I'm complaining about doing any of this stuff, but why does last night and tonight appear to be good astro nights?

I hope you guys are out there and enjoying it! Your viewing pleasure tonight is brought to you by "shattered Al".

Al.

I feel the same way - I was set to set up tonight, but after a few hours in the yard today, I'm struggling! Had a great explore through Sagittarius last night though

I've just finished packing up after a great night out. Started off with a viewing of Uranus and Neptune and tested out the new Barlow, then over to Pavo and had a look at some galaxies. Across to the SMC and 47 Tucanae, then noticed that Orion was coming into view so I finished up with a look at the Great Nebula for the first time this season.

All up a great night out

Yeah Ok ...I tried...

I had a wash and fell asleep in the middle of it... you could've said I crash and burned but the water put the flames out...

...and what's this about boxes? If only my daughter had heard of boxes! Nothing packed, no boxes! I was over it when I arrived!

Where I have control of events and planning, I always try to cram those things into the moonlit part of the month as we all know that clearsky moonless nights are all too rare

Given the number of "good" nights being so rare I recon you have to force yourself a little, because naturally we are conditioned (wrongly) to sleep at night. In the bush I notice the animals dont fight the heat of the day and use that time to sleep ..so just call me skippy the stragazzer.
