An Original Meade 8" Telescope

This is an original 8" Meade Telescope made in USA, long before the Chinese took over. It has "setting circles, remember them" motor drive on the RA axis, but no motor drive on the Declination. I used to have a home made controller for controlling the speed of the motor, but no longer have that. It has manual slow motion on both axis. I have had it for about 35 years, most of its life it has live in our bedroom in its case. It is in excellent condition with no dings, major scratches etc. It comes with a dew shield, focal reducer, diagonal, and a few other bits pieces that attach to the back. It could probably be removed from its yoke and mounted on a modern equatorial mount.
As one of the Forum members said "its time to thin the herd"

Price $400, I would prefer a local pickup from Boronia Melboure.
If somebody wants it posted, they pay for it, and it won't be cheap, it probably weighs about 15KG by the time you add the case, plus the other bits.

Cheers
Peter
