Folks,
Feeling a bit brave with this one as it's pretty low-rent, but I'd set up my mount last night with the promise of a clear sky last night and even before midnight it'd clouded and cleared multiple times, we'd had a short sharp shower when I'd whipped my mount under cover and then the clouds just seemed a bit more persistent

but, as I'd waited up until 3am for Sagittarius to clear the local foliage I figured I'd take my chances inbetween the waves of cloud...what can I say, the weather recently has been miserable for astronomy.
Anyhow, here it is... Fujifilm X-E1 with XF 27mm lens at ISO3200 for 10 seconds on el cheapo tripod (no tracking). Cropped to remove a bunch of foliage out of the frame (a recurrent theme in northern Sydney!)
I'll sleep soundly tonight, and the nova is now free to fade as it wishes
