Hi folks. This is 7 hours 47 minutes from a cooled canon 60da and a vixen Rs200 Newt. Five minute exposures at ISO 400 mainly, with some 800 and 1200 thrown in. Its taken me weeks to collect the data due to weather/work etc.
Have some collimation issues to sort and really don't know how to tame Alnitak down a bit. Processed in Star Tools.
Thanks for looking/tips etc
Cheers
Graham
nice work Graham, a nice late season Horsey! I like the red coming through.
how is your 60da cooled? was it CDS?
alnitak yes that's a toughy! lots of masking!
Nice image. Not sure if you've tried it yet, but the HDR feature in Startools has a tame highlights tool that should help tone down Alnitak and reveal a bit more detail around the star HIP 26816 as well.
I like it with Alnitak 'untamed' so to speak. It makes it look bright, like it does at the eyepiece. There is a great contrast between an untamed Alnitak and the nebulae around it.

Thanks chaps! I will look into that HDR tool Brett - cheers
The canon was cooled by central ds in s. Korea. It's great. Cools to about 15' below ambient. The exif temp was about 2-3'c on a hot night recently.
Thanks for the comments again
