chicken

well.................. this may be the first time i have tried and, with moderate success, chucked my dss picture into ps elements
i may have overdone it a little as the red may be a little over the top
anyhoo, chicken from 19.02.15
95 60s exposures with darks and flats and iso 800
apm 107 unguided and 60da
even magnified full the extreme corners show no egginess so the TS 0.79 flattener reducer is a very good match to my apo
could not believe how quickly the sensor saturated even on 800!
any suggestions most welcome

When you look at your image towards the left and to the right you can see a very light green colour you want to get that out the image will look much better increase the colour of the stars in photo shop

Nice detail but the red seems too homogeneous , I have seen pictures of this object and there are some variations in the red across the main body of the nebula. Also the stars seem to have lost some colour.

Hi Pat,

I had a quick play with the image last night. turned the green up and down and it shows a clear rectangular outline (with the area to the right and down bluer)- appears to be due to a sub overlap/orientation/registration issue? Perhaps revisiting the stack will help out?

cheers

rusty

russell funny you should mention that as i noticed it when i magnified the image to check for field curvature, i think i may have "saved" it before dss had completely finished because there are unfinished "blocks"!
