Astronomy Magazines

In regards to Astronomy magazines (e.g. Sky & Telescope, Astronomy, Sky at Night etc) do you buy these magazines because of a devotion to the magazine or by the quality of articles contained within. I use to buy a particular well known magazine religiously when the edition hit the stand and I even had a subscription for a while but then I started to think what was I getting for my money...not much. So now I just flip through the edition on the magazine stand and if I can find at least two articles that take my interest I will buy the magazine.

Sooo...what do you look for in your magazine purchase and do you read the entire magazine?

I think the magazines have become obsolete, you can find anything you want on the internet nowadays, before the net was around I used to buy the magazines every month, I used to wait eagerly for every addition, now I'll flick through one if I happen to go past a newsagent, and if something looks interesting, I might purchase it, but the majority of the time there's nothing worthwhile, and most of the magazines just seem to be full of advertising. It's not just Astronomy,it seems to be the same with any magazine.

Personally, I like being able to read a physical magazine. And I think we have access to some quality publications, the articles are interesting and usually well written and I will continue to support them.

I'm with Malcolm +1

I've got a subscription to Australian Sky & Telescope and will only buy other Astro magazines if they have articles that I'm interested in. Most frequently this will be the BBC Sky At Night magazine - the American magazines I find to be too heavily laden with ads and the articles are often 'fluffed' up and lacking in genuine substance.
