Jupiter + GRS/RedJr - 11th August 2006

It's been ages since I've got a decent image of Jupiter, even longer since I've got an image of the GRS + Red Jr. Last time I imaged them, they hadn't even crossed yet.

Seeing was typically below average on Friday night. Out of 8 avi's, this is the only one worth posting. It took quite a bit of processing too, with 2 point MAP processing and noise reduction to make it worthwhile. The red channel lets the image down unfortunately.

160 frames of each channel stacked, FFT/LR deconvolution in AstraImage, curves/usm in photoshop.

Thanks for looking.

looks familiar Mike ... you can sure extract the detail from poor conditions. If it was anything like up here by 7pm the seeing had gone to hell.
