Tripple Triffid mmm ?

Well yet another one from Last New Moon @ the Bob'servatory Leyburn
My Mega Data Effort - Hence 'my' mega data as in I normally aim for 10 subs, tho this M20 is 21 Subs = a major diff in SNR for this duck !
Still need more time with Processing practice, that said, this excersize has been very encouraging
Subs were 400secs = 6.666 Mins with the 10" F4.7 BD Newt on Neq6p. QHY10 OSC @ -35deg
No darks bias etc - tho I did shoot 20 darks but havent added them in calibration yet, wanted to try with-out them 1st, then add them in next time and see what difference I can recognise/understand - be an interesting caper Im sure !
Worth a Squizz - let me know what ticks

I like the data very much but I think you had a 'HDR accident' along the processing flow. Maybe a repro is in order. Nice colors and details though.

Colours work for me Bob. Details good as well. Stars have artifacts but you know that already. Good job

Appreciate your honest feedback Marc The Stacked Image was a lot smoother that of 5-10 subs, and I not quite able to handle it properly yet by the sounds - no worries here mate, Its what I need to know, so your comment is well recieved.

Cheers Also David, Yeah, I kinda Botched up quite a few stars hey Im tending to think that PhotoShop might not be the best Prog for Stuff, speshly this target, such a variation in star sizes to deal with ?
I have installed Nebulosity 3 to try out when I have time to go through some tutes etc, hopfully get more controlled processing for the better part, Neb 3 appears quite capable .. Interesting Im sure it will be

Fantastic work, Bob... a real beaut shot of a favourite target. Impressed with how much of the blue region and dark stratum you managed to capture.

One recurring feature I have noticed in your images is the absence of noise. I'm very interested to see what, if any, difference there is after you've subtracted dark and bias.

It's ok. The stacking is not the problem. Stars, details all are spot-on. It's just the dynamic range is screwed up. The luminosity of the core should be much brighter. The whole pic looks flat. This is something that happens in DSO with a big dynamic range if you try to show everything in one pic. It's something you can easily fix in the final. No need for a major reprocess.

Nice one Bob Impressed by how noise free it is with no calibration frames

Interested in seeing a calibrated repro

Erik

Thanx Eden - I think the 21 x near 7min subs at F4.7 assisted in collecting the fainter blue signals. The introduction of noise (through streaching) I tend to deal with as it turns up during processing, will get to adding the Dark frames eventually - when I pluck up some courage

No worries Marc - I used to have a problem with Black clipping and too much contrasts - so may'ave under done this in that sence Ive saved a few during processing stages - so can start on another half way through and go from there, Cheers

Thanx Erik - been sidetracked away from a repro, getting to it, eventually

Nice, I like it Bob, I wonder how much of an effect the calibration will have?
