This wonderful book is a good read. I found the early history fascinating and the technological advances in recent years simply incredible.

Some of the stellar physics is beyond me however the book was still engaging and it is written very well. Australia has so much to be proud of here.

About 20 years ago I was able to visit Mt Stromlo on a day trip with my brother who was working in Canberra at the time. I was impressed then however did not realise until now just how important the Observatory has been to Australia.

It was inspiring and exciting to read of the rebuilding after the great fire. I would like to visit the Observatory again one day and take my children to see it also.
